POST 3: PERSONAL OPINIONS
The reality of the elderly in Chile
Chile is a country where the population was aged considerably, the National Service of he Elderly indicates that in our country there are 2 million 800 thousand people over 60 years of age, that is, 16.2% of the total population. This is due to advances in technology and medicine, which have allowed people to live longer.
Life expectancy in Chile is 80.5 years, according to the World Health Organization. But living longer does not mean living well, because in Chile pensions are low, retired people receive very little money and do not have enough to live well.
I think we should love and respect our seniors because they have a lot of wisdom and gave their lives to create a better future for us, the younger ones. The grandparents of the world should live well, enjoying every day with good music and good conversation. Older adults should live their old age doing everything they could not do before. They should live with many joys in their hearts.
On top of that, older adults must pay for high-cost medications when they get sick. In Chile, the oldest are not respected, they are not cared for and they are not recognized.
As a country we have to change, because we will all be old at some point.
ResponderBorrarIn this country you can not be old. I sincerely believe that as long as we do not finally go out and fight for a decent pension system, I doubt that it can change the lives of the elderly.
Being old's crime. Nothing promise you'll be allright when you get old
ResponderBorrarThe system of pension it is a bad joke for the old people, the adults and young people. Everythings leads to the same, the explotation and the null retribution for the workforce.
ResponderBorrarIt´s really sad how the chilean pension system works! I hope the government change it as soon as possible!
