The reality of the elderly in Chile Chile is a country where the population was aged considerably, the National Service of he Elderly indicates that in our country there are 2 million 800 thousand people over 60 years of age, that is, 16.2% of the total population. This is due to advances in technology and medicine, which have allowed people to live longer. Life expectancy in Chile is 80.5 years, according to the World Health Organization. But living longer does not mean living well, because in Chile pensions are low, retired people receive very little money and do not have enough to live well. I think we should love and respect our seniors because they have a lot of wisdom and gave their lives to create a better future for us, the younger ones.
